A Reconciliation Week Event

Country Art SA's 'Black Screen' is a free celebration of Indigenous film and culture that runs during National Reconciliation Week. Each year 'Black Screen' promotes cultural awareness, Indigenous screen culture and entertainment in locations right across the State. School groups and members of the general public are invited to attend this free screening of Indigenous film industry by showcasing a mix of family-friendly, educational, dramatic and comedic short films from emerging and established Indigenous filmmakers. Alexandrina Council will again be holding a school poster competition in 2019, giving local students the opportunity to design a poster aimed at fostering interest and promoting education through 'Black Screen' and Reconciliation Week themes and activities.
