Description

The Cockle Train is one of South Australia's best kept secrets. It travels along the South Coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, across farmlands and coastal dunes. The cool blue waters of the Southern Ocean feature in a perfect scene of land, sea and sky, framed by the windows of the historic train.

Since 1887 passenger trains operating along the coast from Goolwa to Victor Harbor have affectionately been known as 'The Cockle Train'. The broad, sandy surf beaches at Goolwa are famous for large cockles which are the most common fishing bait.

The Cockle Train is a favourite with families and groups.

No advanced bookings during peak periods; tickets available from the train station on day of travel.

Cancellations and Refunds - Terms and Conditions
Alexandrina Visitor Services (AVS)
Accommodation and Tour Bookings

Alexandrina Visitor Services (AVS) provides a booking service through the visitalexandrina.com website and two accredited Visitor Information Centres (located in Goolwa and Strathalbyn South Australia).

When booking tours and accommodation through us there are AVS specific terms and conditions.

Guest Cancellations and Rescheduling fees:
•30 days prior to travel – receive a full refund
•14-30 days prior to travel – pay 15% of total booking
•Less than 14 days – pay 100% of total booking (no refund)

How to Cancel or Reschedule a booking:
In the case of cancellations or date changes please contact AVS as soon as possible by calling 1300 466 592 or by email visit@alexandrina.com.au

AVS will always endeavour to negotiate the best outcome for you and the operator.

Operator Cancellations:
If AVS has taken a booking and the operator is unable to supply the Product the operator must provide an alternative Product for you the guest. Alternatively you can elect for a full refund which AVS will process promptly.

Once a sale has taken place AVS accepts no responsibility for a cancellation or double booking by an operator.
