The Goolwa Boating Experience

Charter Goolwa

Overview

Hours: Charters available every day if booked in advance.

Our goal is to provide an affordable and personalised boating experience for visitors and locals. Located just over an hour's drive from Adelaide, Goolwa has a unique geographical & colonisation history, all based on the Murray-Darling river basin and access to over 6.500km of inland waterways.

The waters here at Goolwa are shallow freshwater lakes, and unlike other Australian waters safe and free from any dangerous marine creatures. We offer a range of local cruises, including summer evening cruises, where passengers can truly experience the unique perspective from the water.

Description

We are a local small business passionate about promoting Australia & especially South Australia.

We want our passengers to feel that they are on a friend's boat - not on a passenger ferry. We are extremely flexible & accomodating, and no two cruises are ever exactly the same.

Our cruises give insights & experiences about Goolwa, the Fleurieu Peninsula, the entire South Coast, the creation of South Australia, and the national exploration and colonisation of Australia. A simple day trip to Goolwa is a truly unique and realxing way to discover South Australia.

Select from a range of 1 or 2 hour cruises for up to 4 persons. All cruises are available all week if booked online 24hrs in advance.

Directions

Located just over an hour's drive from Adelaide, a day trip to Goolwa can include a scenic circuit rather than simply driving the same route twice.

Route 1. From Adelaide follow South Road onto the Southern Expressway. After exiting the Expressway follow the signs to Victor Harbor. At the Victor Harbor roundabout turn right and head along the coast road through Port Elliot, Middleton and onto Goolwa.

Route 2. From Adelaide follow Glen Osmond road onto the South Eastern Freeway (the main route to Melbourne). Exit the Freeway at Mt Barker, and head through this town following the signs to Strathalbyn (via Wistow). Again head througth the town and follow the signs to Goolwa (or Pt Elliot).

Route 3. From Adelaide follow Glen Osmond road onto the South Eastern Freeway (the main route to Melbourne). Exit the Freeway at Aldgate, and head through this town following the signs to Echunga. Just before the town turn right to Meadows. At Meadows turn left at the T-intersection and follow the signs to Goolwa. This is a very scenic route (so takes a little longer) and is believed to be the route of the very first road from Goolwa to Adelaide.
