COVID Update: The Cockle Train will be travelling on Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th and Monday 8th June, Sunday 21st and Sunday 28th June. From Sunday 5th July until Sunday 19th July trains will operate daily for the school holidays. At normal scheduled times.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions tickets will only be available on the day of travel from the Goolwa or Victor Harbor Railway Stations, while the train is at the station.

No online or telephone bookings.

Trains will not stop at Port Elliot or Middleton until further notice.

The Cockle Train is one of South Australia's best kept secrets. It travels along the South Coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, across farmlands and coastal dunes. The cool blue waters of the Southern Ocean feature in a perfect scene of land, sea and sky, framed by the windows of the historic train.

Since 1887 passenger trains operating along the coast from Goolwa to Victor Harbor have affectionately been known as 'The Cockle Train'. The broad, sandy surf beaches at Goolwa are famous for large cockles which are the most common fishing bait.

The Cockle Train is a favourite with families and groups.
